We had the opportunity to attend Vancouver Fashion Week’s opening night gala this evening and if it was any indication of the week ahead, we are ecstatic! It was evident that blood, sweat and tears were put into each of the designs (in fact, one of the designers, Evan Clayton‘s dress that was shown acted as a receptacle for blood that intentionally came out of the model’s mouth as she walked down the catwalk) resulting in unique one-of-a-kind pieces.
The audience was treated to a full-fashion show from Boboli as well as short teasers (that comprised of one to two models walking the runway) from each collection that will be shown throughout the week.
Some of our initial favourites, based on the curated pieces selected for the mini-shows include: Hatice Ipek Tohumcu, La Salle College’s Jesper Annerstedt, Pouneh Askarian and Goldie London. And of course, we are also looking forward to all of the Vancouver-based designers’ collections.
Below is a sneak peek as some of the upcoming collections that will be shown this week.
